Event Details
Join us on Friday and Saturday nights June 8th and 9th in the Intiman Playhouse at Seattle Center as we present for you an irreverent glimpse into this disposable culture.
All a part of the Next 50, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Seattle World's Fair and the building of the Seattle Center.. Space Needle and all ! Hosted by the Seattle Center Foundation.
Local Haute Trash Fashionistas will team up with others from across the country and a few of our Canadian neighbors too ... to present a stunning collection of couture designed entirely from society's rubbish. Expect the unexpected as our designers have some big ideas in mind.
We will be examining the progression of fashion as well as society's use of disposable plastic and the rise of recycling..... from 1962 til now. Then we will attempt to predict what we think may happen in the next 50.
Will we be more accurate than the 1962 predictions of now?
You'll just have to come find out.
Stage Sets created by award winning trash artist Barbara DePirro, and photo imagery from Chris Jordan will set the ambiance for this entertaining and educational fashion adventure into consumption and waste.
