Event Details
WNY Citizens Against Puppy Mills (CAPM) and Animal Allies of WNY are pleased to announce a peaceful protest at Steve's Evil World of Pets Saturday, February, 18th from 12pm-2pm.
Join us outside the biggest puppy store in the WNY, as we demonstrate against the sale of puppy mill victims! Our efforts are aimed at bringing attention to the suffering of the breeding parents languishing and dying in huge Midwest puppy mills. Steve's Pets has puppies shipped to the store by the notorious HUNTE Corporation on 18-wheel trucks every two weeks. The poor pups are trucked from the mills, to cages at HUNTE, and eventually end up behind little glass boxes inside Steve's store. The young animals remain on display until they are purchased by customers duped into believing they are getting the healthiest and best bred puppy. The parents of these puppies, affectionately refereed to by the industry as "breeders," remain in the mills, locked inside of tiny, filthy cages, never to set paw on a blade of grass or experience a compassionate human touch until the day their bodies give out or they are killed because of decreased "productivity."
Show your disgust towards this hideous industry by standing with us on to raise awareness and encourage holiday shoppers to adopt one of the millions of dogs waiting patiently in shelters for their forever home.
Signs will be provided. Just bring yourself!
