"I just gave my CHRISTMAS JAR Away - Both of their faces were priceless!!!

This is what it is:

Its a jar that I collect all my change for the entire year and then find some random person to give it to that seems in need of help on Xmas eve eve. This year there had to be well over 100 bucks in there!

I had planned this all out back when I read this book while I was on deployment in the Gulf 2010-2011. After my return I started to collect all my change. my husband collects his to put as saving but he even donated some rolls quite generously I might add. My plan was to go to Walmart, Walgreen's or Riteaid or some place where I could tell someone needed the money, but as I was driving back from an appointment tonight, I had my jar and book with me and this truck was at the gas station, driver door duck taped shut and the ...lady getting out on the passenger side to wash the windows and put gas in because the guy couldn't get out of the drivers door. It was a moment of complete random, "Hey excuse me wait please don't drive off I want to give you something.... Here - I hope you have a merry Christmas or that this will help you in some way if you don't need it please find someone else that could use it. Your my first I will remember this moment forever...." I handed them a big mason jar full of nothing but silver coins and a copy of this book by Jason Wright " Christmas Jar's" I singed it inside with the Month and Year saying the same thing with my hope for them to pay if forward some day when they are capable, and signed my name.

If you don't have time to read this book just let me tell you the act of kindness alone in the simple task of throwing your pocket change in to a jar and getting those around to join in to fill a jar to give to someone on Xmas Eve Eve COMPLETELY RANDOMLY! Is a gift from the heart to our fellow neighbors, friends, strangers or anyone in need that you can never forget.

My goal is to get a great number of residence of Whatcom County to pledge that they will create a Christmas Jar (or many) and we can all pitch in the effort to seek out those that really need the help before our own eyes. Remove the Corporate donations where we never see where the money goes. Look around you, you'd be amazed how many of our local neighbors are suffering. Rebuilding starts in our own backyards.

All it costs is your spare change in an old, say pickle jar if you don't have the time or energy to deliver to someone in need I will do it for you on the eve of Xmas eve this time next year.

Even if your not in Bellingham Washington or anywhere in Washington State, if this inspires you to join in and create a Christmas Jar in your community, please join in and create your own drive to help those in need.
