I. To Sign-Up and play
Bring with you $5 US Dollars in an ENVELOPE with your name and third period teacher on the front. THIS IS IMPERATIVE TO OBTAINING YOUR FIRST ASSASSIN TARGET. Do not seal your envelope. Sign-ups will occur beginning Tuesday, January 17th through Wednesday February 1st, at brunch and lunch at the top of the quad. A private group will be made later for all participants.

For those of you who don't know what Assassin is, here's a quick run through:

Assassin Rules

For those of you who don't know what Assassin is, here's a quick run through:

II. Requirements for playing: A plastic spoon (specifically a white plastic spoon, other colors or materials will not count) and a sticker (any sticker will do). Must be a Senior (hint: if you got second, third, or fourth in homecoming you’re in the wrong place).

At the beginning of the game, each person is assigned a secret "target" from the other players in the group. This card will be given to you during a meeting on the morning of February 3rd place and time TBA. Keep this card. When you “kill” your target, your target must give you their assassin card, giving you your next target. You will accumulate cards over the course of the game, when killed only give your active assassin card to your killer. When you are killed or you kill your target (preferably both), please either email or text (preferably both) the name of the person killed, who killed them, at what time, and where. Please do so immediately or as soon as possible. Email addresses: jared.k.kim@gmail.com, daredevil.sameer@gmail.com, phone numbers: Jared: (408) 483-9025 Sameer: (408) 506-8125. As much as possible use photo evidence of your kill to eliminate any disputes.

III. How to “kill” your target:
The objective of the game is to "kill" your assigned target. You can kill your target by sticking a sticker on them any time during the day (during school, outside of school, etc. except for in specific safe zones noted below) However, you can't kill your target if they are holding a plastic spoon (or the immunity item). Kills may occur at any time unless noted otherwise. The game goes until only one person is left.

IV. What to do once you kill your target:

Once you kill your target, you should tell them that you are their assassin and show them your slip of paper to verify. Then you should ask the person you just killed for HIS/HER target (and the slip of paper with the name on it). You then take on that target until you kill them. If there are any disputes, it will be up to the discretion of the moderators (Jared Kim and Sameer Kausar) to issue the final declaration. Obtaining witnesses, or evidence of the kill is the easiest way to avoid all discrepancies. This is still only a game so we don't anticipate any real problems here.

V. SPECIAL FRIDAY RULES:

On each Friday, the rules will change a bit. You don't have to carry spoons around on Fridays. Instead one of the moderators will post a special “immunity” item via email and text. Each Wednesday the item will be named and from the hours of 7am-3pm on that Friday you may not be killed if you have the specific item. We will try to be as clear as we can with our descriptions of the item and we do not encourage “bending the rules”. The immunity items will get progressively harder until only one assassin remains.

VI. Safe Zones:
The following are deemed safe zones until determined otherwise:
1. Target’s House
2. Bathrooms
3. While the target is driving (hand on wheel, engine on)*
4. Predetermined classrooms (teachers will notify you)*
5. Sports practices + games (and 5 minutes before and after the practice ends)
6. ASB activities (including but limited to: dance set-up, leadership activities, rally actors)
7. Work (must be pre-approved, must contact moderator to approve)*
8. P.E. class*
9. Locker room
10. Non-School Academic Exams (i.e. AP, Mandelbrot, CAML, AMC)
*once event ends, safe zone becomes a kill zone.
**Safe zones are subject to change as game progresses.

VII. Winners:
There will be 3 categories for winning:
1. First kill (first to be received and verified by one of the moderators)
2. Most kills (person with the most verified kills at end of the game)
3. Last one standing (the most prestigious award, the last person alive at the end of the game)
Each winner will receive a cash prize (to be determined by number of participants) and eternal glory.
Some final words:
No physical assault will be tolerated, remember we’re still in school, Ramirez is everywhere.
You can't pin someone down, steal their spoon and then tag them. Breaking or further damaging someone’s spoon in a violent malevolent manner, will result in the offender being eliminated from the game. You get the point, when in doubt, use your head.
THE SPOON MUST BE PHYSICALLY HELD IN YOUR HAND AND IN PLAIN SIGHT. It doesn't count if it's in your pocket. It also doesn't count if you use tape or string or any other material to attach the spoon to your hand. You may have several stickers with you at any given time. You may also have several spoons with you but only one counts.
Although we won't be really strict, we would appreciate it if huge alliances aren't formed. They often end up in stalemates and makes the game less fun. Same goes for telling people who your target is.

GOOD LUCK. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.
